By Jan Risbergs Jr

What is the Law of Attraction?

The Law of Attraction is a modern name for an ancient concept.

Approximately 3,000 years ago King Solomon, in the Book of Proverbs, penned the phrase “As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is.”

Around 1854, Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote “We become what we think about all day long.”

Over 100 years ago in 1902, James Allen used Solomon’s quote and wrote one of the first modern self-help books “As a Man Thinketh.” Allen stated “A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts.”

In 1936 in the middle of America’s Great Depression, Napoleon Hill wrote the success classic “Think and Grow Rich!” Dr. Hill is known for many sayings, one of the lesser known phrases he used, which describes the Law of Attraction is “Hold a picture of yourself long and steadily enough in your mind’s eye, and you will be drawn toward it.”

Twenty years later, in 1956, radio announcer Earl Nightingale, a follower of Napoleon Hill, started the self-help audio industry with his million selling recording of “The Strangest Secret.” This summed up the Law of Attraction as “You become what you think about.” He said that the irony is that this is neither strange nor is it a secret.

Finally, in 2006, Rhonda Byrne popularized the Law of Attraction in her movie “The Secret.” It was as if the Law of Attraction was discovered after spending 3,000 years in hiding. Byrne paid considerable homage to the previous authors and drew both global success and global skepticism for her work.

So here we are today. Whether you believe in the Law of Attraction in any of its forms or incarnations, or whether you think his is “pseudo-science” or “wishful thinking” really isn’t important. You probably want to know the answer to these three questions:

1) How can I become what I want to be?

2) How can I do what I want to do?

3) How can I get what I want to get?

In a nutshell, the Law of Attraction not only answers these three questions, but offers a step-by-step plan for achieving these desires.

Whether you believe this is a law or whether you believe anything is attracted is not important. To paraphrase Earl Nightingale, the real irony is that you have been using this strangest secret all of your life, whether you know it or not. Everything you are, have done or have is a result of this law – whatever you want to call it.

The real question you should ask is “How can I use this for my benefit?” If I am responsible for all of the good things that have happened to me as well as the bad – how can I have more of the good and less of the bad?

And that is the first step – understanding that you alone are responsible. For everything. This is probably the best news you could ever hear. If you feel great and life is wonderful – just keep doing what you have been doing.

Since you’re reading this article, it’s unlikely you are in this group. If you don’t like where you are, if you don’t have the money or the car or the relationship you want – this is also good news.

You caused the bad, now just change one thing and you cause the good.

All you have to do is change your thoughts. Then your life will change.

If the words of King Solomon and the film footage of Rhonda Byrne agree on one thing – it is this. Change your thoughts – change your life.

Now we can discuss the exact plan you can use to do so.

Jan Risbergs, Jr. has studied the Law of Attraction for over 25 years – well before it was called The Law of Attraction. He creates and produces online multimedia presentations that explain step-by-step how to get the most out of this powerful blueprint for success. His search took 25 years. Yours can take less than 29 Days. An unexpected shocking discovery reveals how two simple exercises provide the key to altering your subconscious programming. http://JanTheMarketingMan.com

Building Your Own Personal Success Escalator
What is your next step – now that you’ve built your own Personal Success Escalator
Success attracts more success.
What continuing success do you want to attract now?

Think and Grow Rich Action Step #17)
Use of Cosmic Habit Force

It takes a habit to replace a habit.

22 Laws # 17 – Unless you write your competitor’s plans, you can’t predict the future.

18. Success often leads to arrogance, and arrogance to failure.
19. Failure is to be expected and accepted.
20. The situation is often the opposite of the way it appears in the press.
21. Successful programs are not built on fads, they’re built on trends.
22. Without adequate funding, an idea won’t get off the ground.

Well here we are, at the very end of this book and hopefully you are rich by now by following the steps listed – and of so, relax.

My high school math teacher, Alfred Kalfus left me a phrase “Life is a study of patterns” and in Internet marketing there is one pattern after another. One of these patters is to tell and describe how horrible life was before success, how poor you are, how you suffered and what a terrible time life was before the secret discovery that turned it around.

I am going to follow that pattern – but I am not going to dwell on it – because you probably have experienced greater pain than I have. You probably have been poorer or had to go through tougher times.

The working title of this book was “How I Transported Myself from the Bottom of the Basement to the Top of the Grand Canyon in 30 Days.”

Now, you may be in your own basement, you may be unemployed, you may be a “victim” of the recession of 2009, your life may be in the pits. Please do not be offended by the next comment – none of that matters.

Dwelling on the bad stuff that might seem to overwhelm you is not going to help. You might not agree with that. Okay – let’s run a test. How about you spend the next 5 minutes wallowing – just list all of the bad things that have ever happened – but don’t write them down – just set a stop watch and let 5 minutes go by.

Okay – did you do that? Did you feel better? Probably not, but you may be used to the bad stuff. Earl Nightingale said this about the difficulty of making a better life – Wise Saying #XX.

Now do this – what is your basement – what is the pits – what is it that you are going through – what is the lack of money or health or a relationship – you probably know that all too well and can spend a lot more time than 5 minutes describing it.

Okay, now take another 5 minutes and just list – in writing what you want – what your fantasy is – you must write this down and you must spend at least 5 minutes. Start now – what would you like.

Now, please be specific – and again, do not worry that this is a fantasy, that this is a waste of time or “unrealistic” or “it will never happen” or “I am different” or “You do not understand” – because I am about to tell you the secret.

And the secret is this – you have fooled yourself into being a loser – now all you have to do is fool yourself into being a winner. Got that? And the way to fool yourself is to imagine you are already there. See, it has worked so far in your life – but you fooled yourself into the bad stuff – not just start imagining what your better life will be like.

Some of you will not do this. I understand. I did not believe it at first either. You might as well put this book down and ask for the money back guarantee – then move onto to something else. I can’t help you. No hard feelings.

For the rest of you, here is the best news you probably have heard all of your life – no matter how bad things are – they not only can get better – they will get better – and this is a secret that goes back 4,000 or 6,000 years – and it has always been a secret because it is hidden from moist.

See, for me, I was living in the bottom of the basement – because I put myself there. That was a “step up“ from the broke life I was living in Tallahassee – and a way to regroup and rearrange my life. But it was still a basement.

So that was X marks the starting spot. The next step is where do I want to go – that image has been meeting my beloved Ināra, reuniting with after over 1 ½ years “apart” – since we are never really apart, being soulmates and “twins” at the Atlanta airport. A short drive of 35 miles – but it may as well b 100 light years away – when I was broke and didn’t have $20 in my world or a car that was drivable.

But – that image grew more and more focused – and is real in my mind – by the time you read this book – it will have already happened. And the next step ijs where do we go from there. The Grand Canyon of course! Every Latvian has always wanted to visit the Grand Canyon. Why? Beats me. I already saw the place and yes it is cool. But for Ināra a it is a dream come true.

So my image is to be sitting n the first class roomette with the big picture window watching America go by outside – watching the train station in Atlanta – where the Gone with the Wind scene happened, and then traveling along the south of the US to New Orleans. Katrina was the latest invader – the British were the first in 1812. Ināra and I got there before her 50th birthday and my name day on June 24th.

And then we went to Bourbon Street and maybe that cemetery in Easy Rider – the LSD scene – and then we get back on the train to go to Tucson. We watch America’s West go by – and travel in a few hours over the same distance that spans the entire country of Latvia. America is a big place – the entire countries of XC would fit inside the Grand Canyon – with room for YY. But that isn’t important right now.

What is important is that we have the money, the freedom the time to do this – and we have each other – we are about to get on the bus – remember the Bus Ride Out of Hell? We are on the bus from Tucson to the Grand Canyon.

And by helping you market and advertise your business – by helping you attract the customers and sell the products and services and earn you the money – well, we got paid as well.

So a miracle just took place, a Buying Trance was cast upon you and upon me. I literally went from the bottom of the basement to the top of the Grand Canyon. And so can you. Just let me know jan@janthemarketingman.com what your Grand Canyon vision is and how you got there.

All aboard the success train! There are plenty of seats available but you need to make a reservation.

Can you think of anything else? Any other way to get your message out to a word that “desperately” seeks what you have to offer. And remember –

“When your marketing is done well
Your products virtually sell themselves”

What if you put all of the pieces together,
what would your business look like now?

Think and Grow Rich Action Step #16)
Budget Your Time and Money

Tell me how you use your time and how you spend your money,
and I will tell you where and what you’ll be ten years from now.

22 Laws #16 – In each situation, only one move will produce substantial results.

So now you have all the steps that’s will take you from poor and struggling to rich and famous – at least you have the blueprint for this accomplishment

Make a checklist – this will take you from step #1 to step #100 – or whatever the “final” step is – the accomplishment of your goal

You have the same or equivalent or better skills than most of the “friendly competitors” doing the same thing as you do

Wallace Wattles, the Science of Getting Rich which became the Secret has a central concept called “The Certain Way”

What is the Certain Way? It is following the treasure map, doing the paint by numbers and following the recipe, the formula for success – this formula has been around for thousands of years BUT, in once sense it is waiting for you to discover it – if you have not done so already.

Read any newspaper, watch any newscast – al you see is crisis and problems and bad things happening – well – don’t read that don’t watch that – get the image of what you want – focus on it and believe it already is yours.

Which of the steps seems the hardest? Was it the business idea or the elevator speech or the Facebook page? Which seemed impossible when you first heard about it? Possibly it was the very first one – that there could be a business idea that can be turned into a profitable business that will provide the lifestyle that you desire for yourself and your family.

Why would that be the hardest? Because we are trained since childhood to believe that – and for all too many, we go to our grave thinking we have these limitations.

Someone is succeeding at the same thing you are doing and here is a roadmap for you to be able to do the same thing.

Never before has the technology been so powerful and so cheap. If you understand it and how to use it – you can say that this technology is simple. Until you do – it is rocket science. Even rocket scientists have to start somewhere – and that is where you are starting.

Coaching has become a huge business in the past few years – the idea is – pay some money to an expert who will show you exactly what you need to do to succeed. Tiger Woods has a coach, why not you?

As your Skilled Trades coach, I and my (soon to be) staff are available to you 24×7, 365×24 to help – to help answer any questions. Just read this ebook and you might have all you need. Do you desire more help or assistance – that is available too.

Everything you need to learn to succeed is available to you for free – from your computer that is connected to the Internet – so, if money is an issue and I can certainly relate to that – just find the answer and implement it.

Or take a low cost but not free approach and buy the first in a series of products – this is referred to as a sales funnel in Internet marketing – and the idea is that you become a marketer of your own services and teach others to market as well.

Maybe you don’t want to teach, maybe you don’t want to coach, maybe you just want to be paid to do a job, perform a service, sell a product and go home at the end of the day. Cool. The ideas here can help you do that – imagine if you were 10 times more famous – had 10 times the demand – 10 times the customers calling you- not the other way around.

Attracting customers is the name of the game – and following these steps will allow you to do that – so what have you learned? The most important thing is that is it possible for you to succeed doing what you love.

As an American, you are blessed – and you probably don’t even realize that – as a child of immigrants who came to America – I have a personal duty to help others in my parents’ home country of Latvia – they want to come here – and there are countless others in other countries who want to do the same

Yet you are here already and it doesn’t seem so great. That is the goal of this ebook and the subsequent videos and mp3s and live performances – to show you how you can achieve the life of your dreams.

Just remember, “When your marketing is done well – Your products virtually sell themselves” so – Do your marketing well. You have been given the treasure map, just start where you are and follow the steps to your goal, your treasure.

Do you have network of allied, complementary – but non-competitor – skills that you could work together with on a larger project – a team – a master mind – that can mutually recommend and support each other?

Do you have low cost promotional “billboards” like T-shirts – a 4 color quality T-shirt – like AlexTheCraftsmans – are only $22 including shipping. You have your business card logo on the front and your catchphrase slogan on the back. What about Mugs and Hats – to give to your best customers? Offer a prize for the best testimonial. Offer free service if they are seen at a public sporting event.

Do you have a Mobile Billboard on your car? Magnetic signs can be attached to your car – when you are around the corner from your home – so your neighbours don’t see you.

Now that you have your own video, why not show it to the world -
or better yet, your ideal target customer?

Think and Grow Rich Action Step #15)
Maintain Sound Health

To maintain a Positive Mental Attitude and develop a healthy mind and body,
you must conquer fear and anxiety.

YouTube – as Wikipedia describes it: YouTube is a video sharing website on which users can upload and share video clips, and view them in the MPEG-4 format. Three former PayPal employees created YouTube in February 2005.
In November 2006, YouTube, LLC was bought by Google Inc. for US$1.65 billion, and is now operated as

A better description is – you can watch ANY video or any movie that has ever been made or seen on TV – from the comfort of your home computer.

Do you have to ask your grandparents – “Remember when we only had 3-5 channels of TV”

And then there were 100 on cable and 500 on satellite

YouTube has tens of thousands of TV channels – and one or more of them could be yours!

Remember Step #14 – Your Own Business Video – well YouTube will not only host it for free, you can avoid “bandwidth charges or problems” and they will show it to the world – for free.

There is a joke on YouTube that they will pay $1 Million for the first YouTube video that is “edited” – the point being that a lot of “crap” gets on YouTube – and it is so easy to upload videos.

Many of the “Flipcams” have an automatic upload feature – just shoot the video – then plug into a computer – Press upload and your “wonderfully interesting” video is now online at YouTube. Big Mistake!

Take the time to edit! Add titles – your name and your website – make your video a little better than most.

When you open up an account on YouTube – for free – you can upload videos and post them – YouTube does all the technical stuff and “conversion”

Remember infomercials? I guess they still have them on late night TV – well, you can have your own on You Tube – all of the videos that pertain to you – your business, your industry can be in one place for people to watch.

And let’s say you “go viral” – become very popular and people send your video to friends because they find it interesting. People know about you and may want to contact you

In the “old days” were you ever on TV? Imagine if you were. You would tell all your friends what channel, what day, what time. And they would watch and you could compare notes.

Today – just tell them to go to this YouTube address – send it via e-maiul and they watch you “on TV”

Imagine having a series about your products – informing customers not only what you doi =- but how to use the product – instructional videos are very popular on You Tube.

And when you say “YouTube” you are using a “generic” word like “Kleenex” for tissues or “Xerox” for copies – there are literally hundreds of “YouTube like channels” – based on the same idea – with different features – so there is no lack of space online to upload your videos.

And once you have one or several or a hundred YouTube videos – you can “post them” or “embed” them on one of your own website pages. Go to the Video page – and watch the videos -= YouTube will take care of all the technical and bandwidth issues – and people will have the familiar YouTube “interface” to use to watch the videos.

Television has been free to watch for many decades – now it is free to produce and broadcast. You want people to know about you. YouTube is one of the best ways to get the word out.

Why not show the world your video?

DO you have this video on YouTube – “action” footage and edited – with titles that you can tell people about?

If you had your own 4-5 Minute Infomercial,
your own “Preview of Coming Attractions” – what would you show?

Think and Grow Rich Action Step #14)
Cultivate Creative Vision

Creative imagination has its base in the subconscious
and is the medium through which you recognize new ideas and newly learned facts.

22 Laws # 14 – For every attribute, there is an opposite, effective attribute.

Video used to be expensive, difficult to use, nearly impossible to edit and complicated to produce. I know, I first used video in 1981. The equipment for filming consisted of a $5,000 camera, 2 $2,500 editing decks and a $1,500 control panel. Plus TVs and a portable deck. Total cost was almost $15,000. And the quality was not the world’s greatest.

Today, you can buy a “flipcam” a memory stick with a lens for under $100 and a HD or high definition camera for around $200

The editing software is available for free or consumer quality & easy for under $100 and the best software in the world for perhaps $500

The quality is viewable on a large TV – the editing you can do on a PC today would have required $50-$100,000 of equipment from a TV studio or large production house almost 30 years ago.

So there is no excuse not to create your own videos.

Adding titles and special effects is also a standard feature with most editing software – having seen the equipment needed less than 20 years ago makes me appreciate the technology.

So you can film – or video yourself in action on your business – and produce very good quality footage and sound – all phrases from the days of filmmaking.

One thing to do – use a tripod whenever possible – the “Blair Witch Project” shaky camera or Cinema Verite as it was called – looks crummy and viewers get tired of it quickly. Steady shots are cool and appreciated.

Sound can usually be recorded with the on camera microphone – this is to make it easy – and to cut camera costs – sadly, many camcorders do not have external mic hookup – where you can plug in a quality mic for better sound – but this can be worked around and is not all that critical.

What is critical is telling a story – just like you tell a story – beginning middle and end – your video should do the same.

You want to introduce yourself, tell something about yourself and wrap it up.

Adding titles has been made much simpler with software like Camtasia – just calling the video something, starring you is a great introduction.

And of course have your website listed – and e-mail – why not a telephone number where people can get hold of you.

Music is a wonderful addition – you can add “free” music and even “unfree” copyrighted music – you usually will not have a problem – lawyers don’t go after small fish – and when you become a bigger fish – you can afford a lawyer.

Remember slide shows that went on for what seemed like days – or home videos of some “cute kid” doing something stupid over and over again for what seems like an eternity. Keep your videos to 4-5 minutes ?? to not bore your audience.

You can burn or record your video onto a DVD and play it on a home DVD player or on almost any computer – most computers have DVD capabilities – and the larger moniters provide a rich user experience.

Your video is good enough to put on a large screen TV – and it can be “compressed” and sent via e-mail to someone –

You can post your video online on your website – or on YouTube – which is Step #15 – any video you can see on your PC can be put online – another advancement die to high speed internet – mist people no longer have plain old dial up – and the speeds are increasing – so you can watch pretty much anything over the Internet you can watch over cable TV or from a DVD

Movies are a little over 100 years old – just watch an old movie (available on You Tube) from the early 1900s and appreciate how much has happened over this past 100 years.

And put as much of what you do – what your business does – on video –

You can even take still photos and incorporate those – there is an effect called The Ken Burns effect – remember the civil War and Jazz and other shows he has done – where you convert your photos to video.

Even if you only have photos – these are the building blocks of an interesting video describing what your business is all about and how it can benefit your customers.

Your 1 – 5 Minute Movie

Do you have a video on your site introducing you? You don’t have to be a Hollywood star to have your own video – can you just answer a few questions – I have a set of 20 questions I will ask you and you just have to answer them. Any mistakes or glitches will be edited out. Take as much time as you need. As many “takes” as you need. Then all of the “footage” will be assembled into an interesting, entertaining 4-5 minute video. It will have titles and intro music and “outro” music and voiceover and even credits. Once you are happy with this – you can upload this to YouTube – again – completely free. And you can design a YouTube page – just like designing a Facebook page.

Do you have a video of your 5 minute sales commercial – an info-commercial or infomercial that you have on an iPod or a personal video player or on a DVD or on a “thumb drive” that you can send to people and show them what you do

Do you have pictures
or videos of what you do?
Let me photograph you
and/or make a video –
and that is just the start –
you have this video
that I can edit for you –
put online on your website
and even upload it to YouTube.
Plus you can order a DVD version
and play this for your friends –
a custom DVD with printing.

If you are an instructor –
this DVD can be sold online via Kunaki

Do you have a video online?
Videos used to be expensive.
Not anymore.
With a $50 webcam or $70 USB Netcam –
you can make a video.

You can edit it inexpensively
and add titles
and you can upload this to YouTube
and other video services – for FREE.

Your Tribe – Automating Customer Attraction –
once someone is interested in what you offer –
you can contact them again and again without being pushy

Think and Grow Rich Action Step #13)
Learn From Adversity and Defeat

Everyone faces defeat.
It may be a stepping-stone or a stumbling block,
depending on the mental attitude with which it is faced.

“The Money is in the List” is a popular Internet Marketing saying – and if you want to build a tribe – followers – friends – a list is strongly suggested – even if you don’t sell anything online.

1,000 Fans by Kelly Kelly is a Wired article that says all a band or group needs are 1,000 fans and you can be 100% supported by that 1,000

There are autoresponder software programs – that allow you to send a message to one person or a million – at scheduled intervals

A founding concept of Internet marketing is the Opt-in list – where you enter your name and e-mail address and then are sent a verification notice

You receive “for free” some report or video in exchange for your name and e-mail address

There is a privacy guarantee – that you will not be “spammed” have unwanted e-mails sent to your inbox

You can always opt-out – or have your name removed from a particular list and the sender is almost always 100% going to comply – you opt-out you never hear from them again

The concept is called “Permission Marketing” after a Seth Godin book bt the same name – you are asked permission before a marketer – or skilled tradesperson sends you anything

There is no need to worry about that $20 million offer from some Nigerian “son of a rich king”

The opt-in list is great to keep in touch with your prospects, customers and clients

Restaurants, haircutters, drug stores, Quiznos, etc., can keep in touch with customers and make them offers or give them interesting maybe valuable information

You should build your own list – the cost is approximately $20 per month – included in the $97 Marketing Special – but you can get this for free with ads

It is estimated that every person on your list is “worth” $1.25 ?? or so – and again, Internet marketers have a saying “The money is in the list” – you can make money from your list – working offline

When people in your targeted niche want to know something – want information – they are okay if not eager to give you their e-mail address

There are many instruction manuals, eBooks, videos, MP3s, etc. on all of the details of list making and autoresponders

You yourself probably subscribe to one or more lists – and are happy to get their info – and if they overdo it – or annoy you – just opt-out

When you build a list in a particular niche – you have something valuable to offer others – a list of dentists, let’s say is valuable to somebody selling dental information – they will “JV” or joint venture with you – paying you upwards of 50% of any sales they make to make an offer to your list

You will be shown how to set up a list, the autoresponder, and how to write sales letters – and how to set up a sequence

Ever notice when you opt-in you usually get an answer within minutes, often seconds – you get a response from the marketer – and you feel they “care” about you – they don’t keep you waiting. This is all automatic – you the e-mailer don’t have to worry about administrative things – the software and system do it all for you.

Do you have a list? Your customers that you can keep contact via the internet – via e-mail – you can ask for their name and email address and opt-in and have a auto-responder.

Do you have information you can share with others
and keep them up to date via e-mail –
on a regular basis.

I can set up an auto-responder
so that you can
“develop a relationship with people -
who are your prospects -
will be your customers -
and your clients

You probably have something new to say every day –
blogging is a great help to your website and Facebook –
and you can interact with your prospects, customers and clients

Think and Grow Rich Action Step #12)
Inspire Teamwork

There is no record of any great contribution to civilization
without the cooperation of others.

Most website hosting accounts come with a Free Blog – and you can get a free one from Blogger.com or the arguably better WordPress.com – Blogs are hip and they are cool – also easy to set up and maintain – again – knowing the “hidden secrets of Skilled Trades Marketing

Social Networking or Web 2.0 is a general term and it really means that prospects customers and clients interact with you.

Have you seen the popular news sites – like FoxNews or CNN or your local online newspaper? When they have an article – they allow comments – sometimes you get hundreds of comments in response to a story.

The “blog” or new source gets “free reporters” and commentators to add content to their site – for free – in the age of dying newspapers this is a big plus.

The comments can be brilliant or profane and stupid – and you can filter them out or delete them or have them “flagged” for inappropriate content

On your site, you can have readers post comments – they get involved and it adds to your content – others read comments – there is a community that develops around blogs

When you have something to say to a target market, your niche – there are people who want to read about it every day – maybe several times a day – and some will comment on what you write or even other commenters

A Free blog is usually included with website hosting, or you can get a free Blogger.com blog, or the favoured, arguably hipper WordPress – the most popular blogging platform

WordPress also has it’s own site and it is free also – they will set it up for you and all you need to do is add content

The appearance of Blogs is a big business and a free business – with “themes” – the way blog looks – most themes are free – bit premium ones like Thesis or Revolution among the popular “Premium: blogs – the ones that cost money, usually in the $85 – $170 range

Blogs have largely replaced many websites – since they are easy to set up, you don’t need a technical “webmaster” to do most of the work for you and you – the average user – can usually maintain everything yourself.

Blogs can have photos, audio MP3 and streaming audio and video – anything you can have on a website you can have on a blog

Articles are another source of “traffic” – getting people to come to your site

There is a multibillion – with a B – dollar industry that specializes in traffic – getting “eyeballs” to look at your site and stay longer

You want people to see you as an expert – in a world of many competitors – don’t you want to deal with the expert – the specialist – rather than just “anybody?”

Social media helps establish you as an expert and starts your journey to becoming slightly famous – the goal of all marketers – including you

You can also make money from blogging – with advertisements – just like a TV show – when people are coming to your site to read or look at your content – you are popular – and someone might be willing to pay you to advertise to people they want to market to.

Think of blogging – it is very inexpensive, very simple to start and very effective – plus you get to be hip – you can tell people e- :Have you checked out my blog today – I posted a really interesting article – that will benefit you and your family or friends – please take a look and add a comment if you like”

Article Marketing

Demonstrate that you are an Expert
An Authority Site’
Slightly famous in your niche market

Do you have articles indicating you are an expert? How about a few paragraphs that tell the world what you do? These can be taken from your interview – that extracts this information and presents it in an interesting way.

Do you have a free article – that demonstrates your expertise – that you can send – JTMM JanTheMarketingMan has a database of articles for all of the poplar skills – Electrical, Plumbing, Home Remodeling – you can use these to send to customers on a regular basis

100 Articles 100 Days

“How I went from Scared and Broke
to Self-Confident, Slightly Famous
and $12,999 in the bank in less than 30 Days”

I started by asking my 16 Master Mind Friends – what they would do…

What is everything you could say and show about your business online –
remember the entire world could see this

Think and Grow Rich Action Step #11) Control Your Attention

Keep your mind On the things you want and Off the things you don’t want!

Do you have a website That is one of the first questions someone will ask you – whether they see your business image card, or talk to you over the phone or in person. And since it is relatively simple (what isn’t when you know the secrets) to put up a website – or maybe Minisite – that enables someone to see who you are and what you do.

Plus the cost is only $10 for a domain name and free hosting for 30 days – with $6.99 – $9.99 per month thereafter

Websites have been around since the mid 1990s and they have changed the way many companies do business – think of Amazon.com or iTunes – selling goods over the Internet.

You really should have a website.

The cost is minimal and you don’t need a lot of money to set one up – you don’t need a fancy website – with “Flash” animation and an expensive look.

You don’t usually start off in a mansion – you rent an apartment, then buy a home then a bigger home – the same is true of setting up your website.

Website designers can charge several hundred or several thousand dollars – but so can professional wedding photographers – this doesn’t stop you from taking great photos yourself with your own digital camera or even camera phone does it? The same applies to a website.

There are some technical hurdles – but you probably use a word processer, maybe a spreadsheet, probably an Internet browser – you can create your own documents, right?

Many of the programs you use on your desktop or laptop – like Word – are similar to website creation programs – for instance Microsoft Expression Web – a new version of Frontpage

Don’t like Microsoft or use a Mac? There are Free program available to edit the pages of your website and to upload files

All of the technical aspects are explained in an Appendix – and there are many sources of information and tutorial on how to do this.

Since you should have a website – the only question is whether you do it yourself or pat someone else – and you can have a “starter site” up and running within hours of getting your domain name.

You can add photos to your website

You can add music and voice narration to your website

You can add video to your website

You can take orders or donations – collect money via services like PayPal – where you can easily accept credit cards online – at minimal cost and without any hassles with a bank – like filling out umpteen forms and getting approval

Your website is your online sales person – if you wanted to know some information about a company or product – would you call a salesperson and ask? Probably not – you would visit their website and calmly and easily look at the product or service – without ANY worry that a “salesperson” will try to pitch you and pressure you. Why not make it easy for your prospects, customers and clients.

Plus you can add your e-mail address – as well as a Skype phone address- so people can call you for free – great for foreign customers – free call s worldwide,

Also you van have video call worldwide – see your customers and allow them to see you – here is a free service that didn’t exist 5 or 6 years ago – and again it is easy to use and Free – well, anything is easy to use after you do it several times – but the free part is important too.

Is there a catchy website template you can use – immediately – that is easy to upload to your website and that expresses visually who you are? Just like you fill in an online form – or a Word template – you can “fill in” the details of your website. Paint by the numbers is a good way of looking at this process – you start at blank #1 and continue from #2 to #100.

Do you have PayPal – can I pay you on line? It’s easy to set up and it is free. Here is the link to start your PayPal account – and here is how to create a button that “accepts credit cards” – most major credit cards and deposits the money in your personal PayPal account.

So you don’t have to sell or market – why not have a marketing pro put your info online in a sales-friendly way. I have been doing this for over 30 years. Yes, I started out as a filmmaker – telling a message – selling a product. With today’s video and computer technology, this entire process uis faster and less expensive. And much more effective.

Can you answer the top 10 questions that people ask you – on video?

Do you have customer testimonial – from happy customers – that would like to advertise themselves – by linking to their websites – or even audio or better – video testimonials

Do you have a website?
Once you have a business,
a USP,
business cards
and a domain –
you can set up your website in less than 24 hours.

Here is the template
for your first basic website
(deluxe version are available)

Can you take payments on the Internet?
DO you have PayPal?
Here is how to set up a PayPal account –
for Free so that people can pay you online,
can buy your products
and/or you can invoice them –
via e-mail

Do you have a website?
They are very expensive.
Perhaps $10 per month –
do you have a theme you can use –
a template that describes your business – visually?

And they can be set up in an hour or two -
using a template that you customize –
there is no need to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars
you just want a handful of pages
that simply deliver your message.

What is your Home Page look like?
Does it have your picture,
does it have a logo that looks sharp?

1) The real website – the home page

2) Pages 1-5 or 1-6 – what are they?

3) Your blog – with testimonial page

4) Photo page – uploadable photos

5) Links to friends and businesses
you want others to know about

Map of where you are or your business area

Connect with 300 million Friends around the world,
some are interested in the same things you are again, the price is Free

Think and Grow Rich Action Step #10)
Think Accurately

Thoughts have power, are under your control, and can be used wisely or unwisely.

22 Laws # 10 – Over time, a category will divide and become two or more categories.

Facebook started out as way for college student to stay in touch

It now has ?? million users and is Free

Every business person, every skilled trade person should have a Facebook account – yet man “are not ready” or some other excuse

There are different services like MySpace, but these are not business oriented, Facebook is the most popular and widely used?

Having a Facebook account “being on Facebook” is along the lines of what having a website was 5 years ago or e-mail 10 years ago. It helps establish your “digital hipness.”

You can choose who want to be a friend – and you have to allow others to befriend you.

Just like the list and opt-in mentioned in Step # ? – you can always “drop” a friend if you want – and they can of course do the same – but this is not a common practice – once a friend, you usually stay friends.

Facebook allows for networking – staying in touch – not just with friends but associate and prospects, customers and clients too

Wikipedia has this to say about Facebook: “Facebook is a free-access social networking website that is operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc.[1] Users can join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region to connect and interact with other people. People can also add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves. The website’s name refers to the paper facebooks depicting members of a campus community that some US colleges and preparatory schools give to incoming students, faculty, and staff as a way to get to know other people on campus.

Where else can you get in personal touch with your heroes? With people you admire

Most famous people are on Facebook – you can have up to 5,000 friends, but having a special mentor as a friend can be a blessing.

John Carlton, Armand Morin, Glenn Dietzel and many others are heroes of mine that I can contact via Facebook – it’s like belonging to a country club for millionaires – when your membership does not cost very much – but yoy get to “hang out” with wealthier and more successful people.

Yes, there are problems with Facebook, but aren’t there problems watching TV or sitting in traffic or being on the internet? You want to have a TV and a car and Internet access. These are huge plusses. The annoyances are minor – and you can always turn the TV off, stay off the Internet and not drive your car – whenever you want. The same is true of Facebook.

People sometimes are “attention hogs” they want to be noticed – sometimes for the most boring things – like what they had for breakfast or when they are goijg to bed.

Facebook allows boring people – they have activities that add interest, quizzes and questions – to manufacture interest – when interesting people do interesting things and you want to stay in touch with them.

To be someone’s “Friend” as Facebook members are called – you have to ask – again this is a form of Permission Marketing” – if you don’t like a person – you can refuse – if someone starts or continues acting like a jerk – drop them as a friend.

There is no notice given to dropping a friend – you just don’t see their picture and you just don’t hear about them – just like in real life.

Although Facebook is popular and had ?? million members – it’s like having a business card or website when others don’t – in a group where you are the only person on Facebook – you become instantly hip – and this is always good.

And you can get in touch with people out of your past. Single people searching for others can answer the age old question “Whatever happened to ??? I wonder if I can get hold of him or her. Maybe it is not too late to get reacquainted.

Facebook reaches out across time and space as Napoleon Hill once said – it used to be you could write letters to famous people e – and many would answer – Facebook makes it a lot easier.

One person who has made a name for herself on Facebook is Mari Smith. Whether you like her or not – she has converted her expertise of Facebook into a viable business. You can too.

Social Marketing
Web 2.0

Do you have a Facebook page?

The ad is free, you get 5 photos and a few paragraphs –
what do you say, what do you show?

Think and Grow Rich Action Step #9)
Enforce Self-Discipline

Self-discipline is the process that ties together all your efforts
of controlling your mind, your personal initiative, positive mental attitude
and controlling your enthusiasm.

22 Laws # 9 – If you are shooting for second place, your strategy is determined by the leader.

Advertising used to cost money – the classified ads were the biggest income producers for newspapers. You may have seen what is happening to newspapers they are either dying or dead.

Many newspapers, perhaps all have an online presence and offer advertising – it is usually cheaper than a classified ad in the same paper “legacy” newspaper edition

In January 2009, an online ad in the Atlanta Journal Constitution cost $50 fo 45 days – to advertise one house for rent and another $50 to advertise it for sale. To print that ad in the newspaper cost $150.

How times change – today either or both of these ads online is free – why? There is advertising offered to the people who read these ads.

Craigslist started in 19?? and offers free ads for just about anything. They got into a bit of trouble recently with “adult” oriented ads for “adult services” and have ceased these ads. You can still advertise your business, you stuff to sell and your home to rent or sell. For free.

The Atlanta AJC Exchange now offers free ads online – and you get a place to write ?? words of text as well as 5 photographs.

Any of these ads can be linked to your website – which is Step #11 – and you can have unlimited text, photos and video

Classified ads used to be limited to 50 or 100 words and used to be crammed into tiny rectangles on the same page as hundreds of other ads – your kids or grandkids might have to ask “What were newspapers” just like your ask “What were LP records or 8 track tapes”

Most online ads “stink” because the people putting them online do not think like marketers – they never had to before – think like a marketer

Sign up for an account – Craigslist is available world wide

AJC Exchange is available in the Atlanta area – but really worldwide also – and it services a cutomer population of 5.1 million people – even if you only sell “locally” there are probably plenty of customers for your product, service or business – the question is how do you “attract” them to you?

You should have at least one good photograph – sionce it is free to display them – and you are allotted 5 – with the price of a digital camera – of good quality under $100 there is no excuse for “crappy photos” (“crappy is a technical photographic expression).

Do you have 5 photographs of your product or service? If not – why not – and how can you arrange to get pictures taken – I have over 40 years of photographic experience and can offer tips and help

Find your competitors online – you might be surprised how few are using this great new Free advertising & marketing medium – look at what they display – and see if you can do better – it might be easier than you think

Find ads for products that are prepared and displayed and marketed professionally – how did they do that – there are many marketing guides available for setting up a sales page

You will need a “short” sales letter also – there usually is a limited number of words – so what will you say/ Take Step #8 and shorten it – to fit into the space allowed. Your Elevator Speech (Step #6) & Signature speech (Step #7) can also supply information.

You should have a phone number – this is obvious – but why not ad an e-mail address as well as a website address or URL – you know, the “www.” part – people will visit you and your site.

Remember your professional quality Business Image Card (Step #3) – why not have a picture of that also – you got a “proof” copy of that when you designed your card at Office Deport (or elsewhere) in the form of a JPG file (a popular graphics format used on the web) – put your card online so people can see that too.

Do you have a free ad on Craigslist that steers customers to your website?

Do you have – in the Atlanta area – a free site on AJC Exchange that shows 5 pictures – has a real sales letter and steers people to your website?

Atlanta AJC Exchange

Are you in the Atlanta Area?
Let me set up an FREE AJC-Exchange ad for you –
That’s right – an entire page
with 5 photographs
that you can advertise
to the 5+ million Metro Atlanta residents –
for free
Other towns and cities have similar Free or low cost offers
And everything can steer people to your website

Do you have a Free Ad Online?
Craigslist is the most popular nationwide – worldwide –
in addition – Atlanta AJC Exchange
has a Free Advertising section –
DO you have an Ad up and running?
Does it point to your website?
